Thome to the Red Sox?

After two homers in two days, I can imagine the Red Sox are drooling more than ever for Thome. Take a look at Juan Diaz (1B) and Freddy Sanchez (2B-SS-3B): I'd take them for Thome.

Are you kidding? Pena is 26, overweight, putting up lousy numbers this year, and has an attitude problem.

I like Sanchez, but that ain't enough. They can have Finley for him.

"Juan Diaz, 1B: Slammed 20 homers in injury-plagued half-season at Triple-A Pawtucket. Fat, slow, strikes out too much.

Fred Sanchez, SS: Solid contact hitter, will definitely hit for average. Lacks power and may not have the range to remain at shortstop."

Diaz hit .323 in 15 games and Sanchez, .304 in 13 games with the Sox this year. I like "fat, slow, and strikes out too much." He'd fit right in!
